It could be I don't have this servers DNS in the right location. I'm probably going to try bridging my VPN setup in Network settings to my Virtual Interface to see if it shares the connection. I can't figure out if a VPN needs to be involved at all. Turned on BBA in Dolphin, and setup network settings manually to my IP address, with the server DNS(104.243.43.26) in primary and other blank.Ĭonnection started working up until error no.102 screen(not sure what that exactly means) In Dolphin, I was actually connecting up until it was checking DNS settings, in which I'd get error no.102.ĭownloaded tuntap to be able to create virtual interface that comes up auto on Windows.įollowed link instructions to create interface that would show in my Network settings list. #Mac server emulator manualIn PSO, I adjusted my network settings to Manual IP, adding in the IP, Subnet, and Gateway that I saw coming in on my Wifi, similar to what you would do before using MrDNS(which doesnt exist for mac) Except I used the server DNS since I don't have anything to convert it. I also created a bridge by following the linked instructions here(Mac wouldn't let me normally create a bridge including Wifi and Virtual Interface in system preferences). #Mac server emulator macThen, I followed instructions here to actually create the interface(keep in mind I had to achieve root access on my mac for those instructions to work). #Mac server emulator installpkg that is suppose to install the tap interface. I achieved this by downloading tuntap, a. I started out with it not working in any way, and not even trying to connect.Ĭurrently I've been somewhat following instructions here, and I've found a way to create a Virtual Network Interface on my mac(which has no ethernet port anyway). I've been working on getting Dolphin Emulator to connect to the server for a little while and thought I'd share my progress, in hopes that maybe someone can figure something out that I'm not. Kudos to NewerTech for making a simple device that makes a world of a difference.Hi everyone. Once again I am very satisfied with another item sold by OWC. Moving windows around is no longer choppy. I can actually fill my monitor with this desktop something I couldn't do prior to having the adapter. Powered up and once the desktop appeared on my main mac, I could see the difference right away. Powered down the Mini, and plugged the adapter into the HDMI port. They back what they sell and they didn't fail this time. They haven't steered me wrong yet with previous purchases. I've been a customer of OWC for several years. If i dragged a window, sometimes the screen would turn black as if the window had a shadow.Other times the windows would become fragmented for a few seconds before going back to normal.Īfter finding this here at OWC. However I would always have some lagging desktop problems from the mini's desktop. Using screen sharing, I have been able to access the mini. I have been running a monitorless mac mini for quite some time now. FebruI didn't know this existed until last week. ![]() MUST BUY if you are using a headless Mini. It is still a base Mini, don't get me wrong, but it is definitely usable now and what I had intended for it all along. Now it runs in a decent screen size and is downright snappy. Before it was borderline unusable remotely, even on a wire, everything shut down, it didn't matter. The difference is night and day, even on a base model (1.4 i5, 4 GB RAM) Late 2014 Mini I'm mad I put up with it for so long. I figured, for this price, why the heck not give it a try? Jumping Jehoshaphat why did I not find this thing sooner? Then I was shopping for other stuff and saw this little adapter. Remoting into it was always a nightmare to the point that I thought there was something wrong with it. ![]() ![]() #Mac server emulator professionalVerified Buyer Reviewer: WGFinley Location: Elkhorn, WI Age: 45-54 Experience Level: IT Professional Owned Product: less than a month Rating: 5/5 Why The Heck Did I Not Know About This?
